| Wazzap?! My first 'model' |
As part of the Bouncing Ball Project, we were to create a bouncing ball on Autodesk Maya. Having never tried CGI before, I was a bit skeptical towards the process and doubted that I would enjoy it. However, I did and I think I managed to create some fridge-art worthy results that I am happy with.
Bouncing Ball
The following three videos are all of the same bouncing ball but 'shot' at different angles/lighting/etc. Happy with it for a first attempt of keyframing, using the graph editor to adjust the speed and path of action the ball.
Bouncing Ball - View 1 Bouncing Ball - View 2
Bouncing Ball - View 3 (w/motion blur)
I can see how motion blur could enhance an animation but since it's not compatible to have a cast shadow as well, I feel it loses something without it.

Ball on stairs
First video - ball without squash and stretch and lighting (looking a little bit floaty) to establish timing.
Second Video - Same ball on stairs but with added lighting and duplicate of the ball going other way.
Ball on stairs - Squash & Stretch
Attempt at adding squash & stretch to ball as it falls down the stairs (but a bit too quick to notice). Better if it arced higher in relation to the speed it's at though.
