Blip (as a part of the Bouncing Ball(s) Project)

Back in the summer, I had been planning to create a wee short animation that focused on a little circular character called Blip. Blip likes nothing better than happily bouncing up and down. However, his fun is short-lived with the arrival of Blob, a larger character, who unintentionally annoys Blip and causes him to storm off in a huff. Blip eventually forgives him in the end and so it would finish with the two of them happily bouncing together.

You can tell with all this explanation that the animation was never created. This came down to technical problems (my computer was defunct) and my laziness of not trying to fix them. I needed the holiday though...

So here is an attempt at trying to visualise Blip in hand-drawn form:

Basic form and path of action
Do ignore the flickery base-line.

Form w/ eyes added
After quickly plotting the eyes and taking this test capture, realised I wanted to have eyes 'raised' when he is rising and for them to then level out when he starts to go down (rather than in this which I feel his eyes level out when he is at peak height).

Final 'Jump' Cycle
Tried increasing the frame rate by double so now 24fps.
Like the path of action and feel the drawings flow together smoothly.
Eyes are smaller than I would have liked due to thick pen for filling in.
Further development would be to play around with eyes more for better expression and to exaggerate 'squash and stretch' qualities - more of a pause whilst on impact.
